2019 Peace Scholarship Awards Banquet (Pictured are winner, Claire Wallace, and speaker, Diana Hadley. Not pictured – winner, Emily Vanosdol.) The 27th Annual Peace Scholarship Awards Banquet was held at Kokomo Church of the Brethren, Kokomo, Indiana on Sunday evening April 28, 2019. After the meal, the program began with the reading of the two winning essays on peace. From Tri-Central High School, Emily Vanosdol’s essay was titled, “Peace Making In Our Relationships.” From Northwestern High School, Claire Wallace’s essay was titled, “Walking in the Dark.” Each winner received a $500 scholarship to assist with college expenses. Diana Hadley, Quaker, former Franklin College Professor, and co-author of the book “The Peace Class: A study of effective cheek-turning, neighbor-loving and sword-to-plowshare conversion,” spoke to us about her experiences teaching college students about peace. The Peace Scholarship Essay Contest is a cooperative program of Brethren, Friends, and Mennonite Churches in and around Howard County Indiana.
Annual Church Rummage & Bake Sale, Saturday Only! Sale held at Kokomo Church of the Brethren, 311 W. Lincoln Rd. Kokomo, IN (behind Kroger) on Saturday, April 27, from 8 am - 1 pm. Loads of items! Furniture, housewares, books, magazines, toys, electronics, clothing (baby, toddler, teen, and adult), shoes, collector’s items, etc. Proceeds go to a good cause!
Everyone is invited to attend the... Annual Peace Scholarship Essay Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 28 at Kokomo Church of the Brethren located at 311 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN. Two scholarships will be awarded to area high school seniors who will read their winning essays. Diana Hadley, a Quaker and author of The Peace Class, will be the speaker for the program. A freewill offering will be collected to support future scholarships. 5:00 pm Light Supper. 6:00 pm Program with high school senior winners reading their essays.

The 2018 Heifer Walk begins this Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Jackson Marrow Park, Kokomo. Team Buster challenges you to raise more money for Heifer International than they are. Pumpkin Bandits Trick Kroger & Treat KCOB On Thursday evening around 7:22 pm to 7:34 pm, Pumpkin Bandits looted pumpkins, gourds, and snowmen from Kroger and deposited them underneath a nonworking yard light on our parking lot just east of the entry way doors. Pastor Mark noticed this strange pile of loot when he arrived at work Wednesday morning. Kroger was notified and sent an employee over to recover their merchandise. Everything survived except for one smashed pumpkin. Bandits in KCOB security camera video can been seen in upper left corner. Video is not the best due to lighting conditions,pixelation, and camera limitations.
The May 20, 2017 Women's Night Out featured a concert by PROMISE. Listen to their harmonies as they sing the famous hymn, I Need Thee.
IT's almost here -- the Kokomo Church of the Brethren SOUPER BOWL, Sunday, February 12, right after worship! This is a fundraiser for our youth to attend the 2018 National Youth Convention. Come sample the soups and vote for your favorite with cash donations.
